In my opinion, copyright is the right or restriction of other users, followers, publishers, or anyone from using content/material from the "creator". On the other hand, fair use allows individuals to use copyrighted material(s) for academic and entertainment purposes. It is not as restricted as copyrighting. As a teacher, I would limit certain search engines online or website that do not fit the MLA or APA citations/references. My students would have to cite everything they paraphrase or quote in order to prevent plagiarism in the classroom when doing their own work.
For Academic Dishonesty, I would use an approach to this problem similar to how FSU implements the Academic Honor Code. I would give my students copies of their own Academic Honor Code and explain to them the rules and the guidelines to avoid plagiarism and ensure that their work will be carefully reviewed for Academic Dishonesty (example: submitting work of their own). This Academic Honor Code would include rules and examples of Academic Honesty versus Dishonesty. Another technology implementation issue I would tackle would be Cyberbullying. This issue would be difficult for a victim to come forward and speak about their problem. I would make sure to watch out for any behaviors in class that warrant suspicion of bullying and limit personal phone use in the classroom. I am aware I would be limited in my power over cyberbullying but I would want to build heathy relationships with my students and help foster healthy peer relations among themselves in order to decrease the social intensity between students.
From the Newsletter Design assignment, I acquired a handful of skills that included the use of columns, formatting a permission slip, and shading. For the future, I hope to be more efficient with these skills and become "faster" and a better problem solver to figure out how to navigate thoroughly through MS Word. These skills I have acquired will help me with advanced computer tasks as someone in a profession that would use these skills when working with children and creating assignments/tasks for counseling purposes. I look forward to learning more technological skills in this class.
