Teacher pages on school websites show me (publicly) teacher information such as: contact info, interests, and their grade level. These basic pieces of information allow students and parents to see the teacher and have a small introduction to them and their classroom. It is important to have this sort of data available publicly to allow parents and students to reach out to the teachers and discuss any questions that come to mind. The websites should be easy to navigate and sorted by grade-level/subjects depending on the school, its county, and district. I observed my old elementary school and went through the different staff pages throughout the site.

As a future teacher, I would use productive technology tools such as PowerPoint and Kahoot would also be a tool I would use for older elementary children (grades 3-5) for them to interact with and learn through engagement of contests/quizzes. PowerPoint would be a tool to teach my students new content and display the information for all the students to be able to visually see. Kahoot would be a "treat" for my students as it is a an interactive game/tool used to test the students and their retention of information taught.
My experience with PB Works has been vastly improved since we last completed the group project only 1-2 weeks ago. I think it is a bit outdated in its visual presentation however, it is a handy tool for teachers and students to submit their work (individually and as a collective). I would use it for upper middle school (7th-8th grade) and high school students because of the various functions that are used on the site. This tool would be useful for note taking, resource gathering, and work submission (writing content) that can be continuously reviewed and edited by both the teacher and the student(s).

  1. Hi, Dev!

I definitely agree that PowerPoint and Kahoot are great resources for teachers to use. They are both so easy to navigate and give teachers a fun way to engage students during class. I also agree that PB Works was a little bit outdated. I felt as though the graphics needed to be updated, but overall it was fairly easy to use both individually and as a group.
