From the Standards and Technology Matrices for ELA, I chose to focus on grade 4 and LAFS.4.RL.3.7 standard which includes making connections from ELA medias via visual or oral presentation. I feel prepared to implement this strategy because, I consider myself well versed in presentation skills and its uses. Instead of using iMovie, I would teach the students how to make presentations with Prezi and/or PowerPoint on making connections to multiple types of media with basic presentation skills and uses. My current skill set is applicable to what the standard entails and accommodates to both visual and auditory strategies of learning.

From the CPALMS Teacher Skill Section, I chose grade level 4, ELA LAFS.4.RI.1.1 which is about teaching students how to draw certain inferences from the text and comprehending the examples from the media. One of the resources that I found interesting in this section included students learning about online technology through example texts and having them draw inferences from these texts by answering questions. The students would be able to work on their own computer skills by saving their work by making an account and sending it to the teacher. These resources integrate ELA and technology skills.

Internet proficiency is important as a teacher because, Internet searching is one of the most important abilities in basic technology comprehension. For example, of the internet searching skills that were introduced this week, I found that Google advance search is more reliable. It allows you to exclude words from your search and select specific file types that you want in the search results. This advance search leads to faster and more successful/dependable searching.
